πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•Hi everyone at ARAN, Hobbes here! I wanted to write to you all today because it's been 12 whole months since I said byebye to you all to go and live with my new family.

It was scary at first, I was upset every time I got in the car, I was sick a lot. But my family never told me off, they cleaned it up and helped heaps at making me feel happy in the car and now I love the car soooooo much! I don't even worry from fireworks or thunder because I know they'll look after me. I have two sisters, I know you've met them! They are great and it's my job to protect them so I always keep my eyes on them, even when I'm snuggled under their beds for bedtime stories.

Sometimes I get cross when I don't get my way and I get a little loud. My mum laughs at me when I do that and it makes me more cross so I stomp my paws and sometimes huff at her! She says it's adorable but I think I'm a wolf! I can't stay mad for long because it's usually not their fault.

Can you please tell the other pups you're saving that it might be a bit scary getting a new family but boy it's amazing! Just look at this, we hang out on the couch together, this is me waiting for the others to join me.

Thanks for finding me such a great family!!!

I HOPE everything works out fine for all these beautiful fur babies. Sending them my love and well wishes for happier lives <3

Huckleberry is still waiting for his happy ending, he is an energetic, enthusiastic, constantly smiling chap who LOVES playing ball. Seriously, this dog could represent NZ at the Olympics if 'ball' was a category. He is 4 or 5 years old, needs a home without cats and high fencing as he has built in springs. Huck is based in Auckland, if you would like to meet him and can offer him the loving home he needs please email us at aran.rescue.nz@gmail.com Thank you! ... See MoreSee Less

Shared on behalf of Waitomo Council πŸ’•πŸΆThere have been a number of desperate 11th hour saves recently and lots of you wonderful people have helped make these possible.
That's because in pounds all around the country it never ends, every week. The ones we post about and share with a photo are only the tip of the iceberg. The lucky ones πŸ˜ͺ
At least, hopefully, posts such as these heighten the plight of pound pups and bring awareness to their situation.
THESE PUPS ONLY HAVE 7 DAYS LEFT TO BE RESCUED !
Can we Rescue these cuties in 7 days, folks?
Black male is 1-2 years old mastiff/ lab cross.

Temperament tested.
The adoption is cost of registration and chip ($115 and $25).

This is our dear Stanley, who has had no interest at all πŸ™....and he's beautiful, and smart, and funny and has a good, kind heart. He would make a wonderful, extraordinary companion for the right person; he's cruisy and pretty low energy and would be very happy to mooch around with you, maybe pottering in the garden or lazing on the deck. Big walks are not really for him, he's more of a couch potato. Stanley loves people and craves their attention and has come up with a way of making sure he gets it; he is mouthy and literally grabs your attention. This is why he needs an experienced owner who has the time and patience to work on this. There is no malice whatsoever in his mouthyness, it's all about excitement and attention, but it needs serious work. For this reason he is not suitable for a home with children and also not cats or chooks. If you would like to know more about Stan and have the experience to help him, please contact us at aran.rescue.nz@gmail.com Thank you!
Stanley is located in Auckland

Mutley is needing to be rehomed through no fault of his own, and his current family are devastated. Hes a lab x, 15 months old, and was born into ARAN's care when his heavily pregnant mother was rescued from the pound.

Mutley is great with children of all ages, including babies. He has not lived with cats and did chase the neighbours cat once, but we believe with proper introductions and training (and a cat that will stand his ground) he could be OK. He is housetrained and knows basic commands.

He is very well behaved with dogs when out walking, but Mutley is not all that keen on sharing his family, so we want to rehome him as an only dog. He has never been left alone for long periods so he will need to go to a family where someone is home for most of the day.

As with all ARAN dogs, Mutley must sleep indoors and be allowed inside with his family. He must never be kept chained up.

Mutley has been de-sexed, is fully vaccinated, is microchipped and is up to date with flea/worm treatments.

There is an adoption donation of $300.00 to help towards these costs.

He is located on Auckland's North Shore.

To fill in an online adoption application please visit: form.jotform.co/aranrescuenz/questionnaire

people sometimes get hung up on the looks, one of our top dogs was average to look at, but man did he rate high in the brains department!!! awesome in brains and awesome in temperament! Please give him a go

We took Russia to the ARAN dog show at the Auckland Easter Show earlier this year - she was brilliant! Having not met us before, jumping in our car without hesitation. Loves pats and cuddles, and was amazing, being led through the obedience arena at the dog show. If she is like that on the first meet (not knowing us, or the environment she was in / being taken to), a lifetime would be invaluable. My circumstances are such that I can't offer a home myself, but she left an impression.

Is he still avaliable?????
