MISSING DOG - Morrinsville

We are reaching out to ask if you and your team could keep an eye out for our missing elderly dog Lucy.

She went missing from Morrinsville on Sat 28 Sept 2024 around 10:30 am. After multiple searches and investigating all other options, we are almost certain that someone has picked her up and although she is microchipped, we have heard nothing since. She was wearing a grey dog jumper at the time she went missing.

Lucy is 17 years old and has lost most of her hearing and can’t see very well. She sometimes gets confused due to her age, and needs daily medication for her breathing and arthritis, as well as special eye drops for an eye condition. Since she has not had her medication for several days now, she will be coughing and potentially lame. She is otherwise healthy and active.

Name: Lucy

Type: Dog

Gender: Female

Age: 17 years

Desexed: Yes

Vaccinated: Yes – all vaccinations up to date

Breed: Mixed breed

Colour: White with tan on head

Size: Medium

Microchip: Yes. Registered with NZCAR and flagged as “lost”

Registered: Yes, with Matamata Piako District Council

Regular vet: Companion Vets Hamilton, Tel 07 222 3337

Please private message us if you have seen her!

Urgent Foster for this lovely young man.

Fostering is so satisfying giving a dog their best chance to live the life they so deserve. Please Please open your home for this character.

SOL IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN Wellington but might be moving to Palmerston North

Sol urgently needs a new home or a Foster home.

Sol is a smoochy lovable 1 year old Staffy Cross.

Unfortunately he is too strong for his current owner and is looking for a family who will love him to bits whilst providing him with ongoing training and strict rules.

Sol would be best with a strong Male role model who would provide boundaries so Sol would thrive.

Sol has lived with children in the past but would be best in a family with children older than 10 years old.
Sol loves his food which is great for training and loves playing with his toys.

He is de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped and registered and up to date with flea/worm treatments.

There is an adoption fee of $300 to contribute towards these costs. This is heavily subsidised for you and represents approximately half of what it would cost you normally.
Sol’s new home must have a safe secure place for him to be while you are out. ARAN dogs cannot be chained to kennels or left for very long periods home alone. All ARAN dogs must sleep indoors.

Our adoptions are subject to an approval process, and if successful there is then a two week trial period, to make sure the dog is a good fit for you. If things don't work out they return to us.

The first step if you are interested in adopting is to fill out an online adoption application which you can do here: www.jotform.com/aranrescuenz/questionnaire

Located in Palmerston North. Honey B is a very sweet dog, a labrador X, and only smallish medium in size and about 3 years of age. She is a bit shy with new people, like for about 10 minutes, lol, but warms up quickly and is then a most affectionate, dog who loves to put her head on your knee and cuddle up.

Honey was an ARAN pound rescue, and has been returned to ARAN because her elderly owner is now unable to care for her. Honey would be best as a single dog, with no other animals.

She's a sweet heart ♥

Come on NZ. This is despicable.

Adopt a dog. Don’t buy because this is what encourages people to breed. Then we and other rescues have to deal with the fallout.

Think prior to engaging a breeder and maybe contact your local council to see what dogs are available.

We adopt many out from the pounds.

Name and shame these humans…. Bet they will be begging to have the dogs removed from there appalling situations In under an hour once the public Gets hold of them 😁

Despicable excuses for human beings..😡🤬Those Poor Dogs. 😭🐾🐾Beyond stupid and all kinds of wrong

And while we are here everyone go and leave pet warehouse a review. I think they’ve blocked me lol

Left a one star google review at Pets Warehouse Whangarei. If we all do the same, it will definitely make a difference.

This is terrible those poor babies. Just so so wrong,😭😭😭

Shame on them....... Step up spca go get them and charges should be laid. Awww so sad and shame on the shops allowing this, pet warehouse shame on you

First off I want to say there is a huge difference between an Ethical breeder and a puppy mill. Ethical breeders actually care, time and money for their puppies and dogs. All their animals are well taken care of. None of them are in horrible cages where they can't move around. No back to back breeding. Health testing is done on the dogs. They don't let their puppies go till 8 weeks and older. Some of the dogs have titles and won classes. The breeder is breeding for a purpose. None of their puppies are in the shelter. A contract goes with the puppies when they are sold. The breeder takes back the puppies anytime in their lifetime. They don't sell to pet stores. The puppy mill on the other hand doesn't care about the dogs well being. They just care about MONEY 💰 that is it. The dogs are kept in horrible shape and in cages that are too small for them. The puppies will be sold at 8 weeks or even younger. The poor bitches are bred back to back no proper care. Half the time the puppies don't make it. The shelter has half or even most of the puppies and dogs from the puppy mill. They don't stop even when their dogs are taken away from them. They will not show you their set up or the mom and dad of the dogs. Please remember if you are wanting to buy or adopt a puppy do your homework first. Ask to see the setup of the breeder. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Please don't buy from a pet store. I know it is attempting because you feel bad for the puppy but trust me that is a bad idea because if the puppy mill can make money off you they will continue to breed. I worked at an animal shelter for 4 years. I saw and heard horrible things happening there. Not all shelters are good ones. Also please remember to look around and ask questions there as well. You never know. Please educate, spay or neuter your pets. Adopt not shop. Do your homework and use your own judgement.

The Hospital has no medicinal help but to hear the stories and give suggestions that can’t help at all, but I got cured after using the herbs 🌿 I purchased from Herbalist bally on his Facebook page 👇👇👇https://www.facebook.com/327382237132811

Beautiful...♥️

What a cute guy. 💌

❗️URGENT - CONSIDERING ADOPTING? PLEASE CONSIDER THOMAS❗️

Thomas needs stability and love in his life.
Enquiries to - [email protected]

*SHARE* his story!

**********************************************

"Hi, I’m Thomas. I’m a simply lovely approximately 8-month-old huntaway cross, currently in a temporary home, in Whanganui.
For a young pup, I’ve already had plenty of upheaval in my life. 😔

Now, I’m staying on a farm, till I can find special humans willing to love me for life!
Sadly, that's unique. Doggies are currently being abandoned left right and centre! 😪
Trouble is, since being on the farm, I do tend to want to chase the horses here.

I DID chase the cat once, when I first arrived, but I accept now he's part of my pack and I just ignore him. 😁 See? I truly am a good boy.

Turns out I truly make a beautiful pet! I’m lovely with children too! 🥰

My carer takes me walking on leash each day, and I’m very much a gentleman.
I'm SUPER trainable. When walking, I'll look back to her for direction. I'm a little goofy though too! Sometimes I trip over my feet!
I have a GREAT nose on me too! The other day, I tracked a man's scent - for a great distance - while we walked. I may have detection potential, who knows!
At times, with my recall, I’m your typical stubborn teenager, of course! We can’t ALL be perfect! 😎

After a nice big leash walk with my carer, I’m happy to chill out – choosing to sleep under her feet.

For a young pup, I’m an unusually chilled out kind of guy. I’m not a high energy sort.
I’m looking for a fully fenced cat-free home. I’d be best living with another doggy my size.

I could live solo too, but I’m certainly a social butterfly with canines, so I’d be happy sharing my home. 🐕‍🦺
I’m a happy barker too – just so you know. I’d be best in a home that appreciates and understands my bark is how I express myself.

I have been vaccinated for parvo, desexed and microchipped. There will be a $300 adoption fee, to partly cover these costs.

So now, it’s just a matter of moving onto this exciting new chapter of my life.
I’m a guy full of potential – with a true zest for life."

Meet the most gorgeous-eared boy you’ll ever see…sweet Kadin.

Four months old and now ready to find his forever home this little man is a real sweetheart. Very good with all the other dogs he’s met, playful yet not jumpy, and he’s smart and making a great start on housetraining.

Kadin is located in Patea and seeks a kind and loving family where he’s not left alone all day, as he’s still a baby.

If you can offer Kadin a wonderful home please complete our pre-adoption form. All our adoptions come with a two week trial.

Still needing a home as at Tuesday 13th August - updated photos ❣️❤️‍🩹

‼️📣 URGENT - PLEASE SHARE

Poor Kahn urgently needs help! His person has passed away and sadly he only has a very short time to find a new home.

One of the wonderful vets that we work with is trying to find a home for Kahn. They say he's an all around cutie, and a fun and energetic boy. He's 5 years old, desexed, and up-to-date with vaccinations, and he's located in New Plymouth. Kahn has been good with kids and other dogs (not 100% with cats)

If you can help, please contact Vets4Pets ASAP 06 757 4838 otherwise please share this post!

Thomas will be desexed prior to adoption.

"Hi, I’m Thomas. I’m a fun-loving 3-4-month-old Huntaway cross pup, living on a dairy farm, in Waverley. 🌳
I’m a black beauty urgently needing a loving new home.

I’ve tried my hand at hunting but - even as a wee tacker - it’s clear to my owner, I don’t cut the mustard.
You see, to be a good hunter, you must be quiet and sneaky. Me? I run and bark. Why not, I say!
I’m a vocal wee chap. When I’m feeling happy, I’ll run round the farm and share my big bark round the place.
First thing in the day, I’ll bark because I’m happy, woohoo! 😁

I’d thrive in an active pet home, where I’ll get out for walks and adventures with my humans.
I could easily share my people with another doggy or live solo.
I currently live with a little King Charles Spaniel, and we’re great friends.
I do guard my food from him though, so it’s important you know that, if I’m living with canines, I’ll need my own space for eating. 😋

My favourite time of the day is when my owner arrives home. He takes me for a run and it’s SO fun!
He says I’m a good little man. I sleep soundly in my kennel at night. He never hears a peep out of me. 🥱

I’m a smart wee dude. I come to you when you ask and sit on command too – all in the hopes I’ll receive my favourite reward – a nice big belly rub!

I LOVE my food but I’m currently learning to wait patiently for my meals and not get snatchy. It’s always a work in progress with a young pup, of course.

I haven’t met cats, chickens or sheep – so not sure how I’d be – sharing a home with them.
I do, however, live with cattle here and I’m not phased by them. 🐄

I’ve spent time with my owner’s grandkids. They think I’m GREAT and I’m lovely around them, so I’m well socialised with people. 👨‍👧‍👧

When I arrived here, a few weeks ago, my owner made sure I was vaccinated for parvo.
I’ve also been registered and microchipped.

So now, it’s just a matter of moving onto this exciting new chapter of my life.
I’m a guy full of potential – with a true zest for life.

If you’d like a sweet little man, like me, in your world, send an email, introducing yourself and describing the life you can offer me."

Why does he only have a week? What’s happening to him in a week if he doesn’t get a home?

Is this in narawhahia

A decent photo would help 😬

Aran Rescue would like to pass on a huge thankyou to Masterpet for their ongoing support and donations of good quality food.

Like most rescues we have a lot of mouths to feed and we couldn’t do it without donations.

Will touch base with them tomorrow and hopefully go and meet him

We thought he would be adopted already, poor Finch. We would love to take him but we don’t have a fenced in area yet - how large do the backyard enclosures need to be? (Of course assuming dogs also get walked everyday).

Omg he adorable If I didn't already have 3 dogs (one being a a Beardie/Boarder Collie X) I would adopt him in a heart beat 💕💕

What a beautiful boy, hope he finds his forever home.
