Community Rehome (we have not met Sylvia but this is what her mum has to say):
Sylvia is an American Bulldog x, aged 5 years. She is desexed, registered and vaccinated and is looking for a new home. She was attacked by some (female) dogs two years ago and is now fear aggressive towards other dogs.
She is located in Waipa and is looking for a home with a fully fenced section (this is not negotiable as she must be kept safe, and safely away from other dogs - she does not have a properly fenced section now which is the reason for rehoming).
Whilst she lives with other male dogs her mum would prefer that she went to a home where she was the only dog. She is good with cats and with children.
She Is a inside dog and is toilet trained she will stand by the door or when asked “want to go toilet” she will walk to the door, knows high five, shake hands, sit, stay, up - “stand”, lie down, crawl, “go to bed” she will come with her bed

Meet our Diva
Urgent foster or permanent home needed for this lovely girl. Heading Dog X aged about 12 months old. She has lived in town, so not experienced with stock, but needs room to run. She is on the smaller side of medium. People friendly but too energetic for young children. Not tested with cats. Needs high fencing and someone home at least part of the day. She has had no obedience training. Would be a good agility dog, as she is confident and can jump quite high. Diva will come registered, microchipped, vaccinated, desexed, and treated for worms and fleas. She must be included as part of the family and sleep indoors. Dive would love being a member of an active family.
Please email us at email@example.com for an application form. ... See MoreSee Less
Oh wow her and molly would looooove each other! Hopefully she finds a lovely energetic home soon ❤️
Hope you get a loving, indoor, forever home soon. Best wishes. P.Lee

Toy drive? Worth trying SAR?
Meet our Beautiful LOKI.
She is 7 months old and a English Bull Terrier X.
Loki is the most loveable cuddly dog and she is very loyal. Loki has been in foster care for the past two weeks and she has learnt a lot of things from her foster brother.
Loki has learnt to walk on a lead and a obedience including sitting for her dinner whilst in foster. She is very very keen to learn and please.
She would need someone that is home a good portion of the day or include her in their day time travels. She is learning recall and has been very responsive to this training.
She would make a fantastic family member and the lucky family that does adopt her would be a very happy family.
Loki has been desexed and has had her first round of vaccinations. She will need a booster in two weeks.
Good fencing is required and she would not be good at a home where her family is at work for a full day.
Loki must sleep inside as she is very use to this comfort that we all take for granted.
Loki is now taking applications and she will access them all to find her happy home with her new family.
Loki would encourage you to fill in ARAN’s application form and Loki will log in to their email in excitement to read her new family’s application.

In memory of Libby, who passed away this week 😔❤️
Libby was Tamar's dog, one of our regular fosters, and she was just the loveliest soul. She was the perfect foster sister to so many dogs who needed a port in the storm and you can see from these photos the difference she made to their lives. It was like they arrived at Tamar and Libby's house and saw that everything was going to be ok after all.
We are extremely grateful to all Libby's family and friends who have donated to us in her memory. It will allow us to help several dogs who just need their luck to change, just like Libby once did (she was found as a tiny pup in a storm drain).
So thank you Libby for all the dogs you helped us to save, and thank you Libby's people for your tribute to her which will help us save many more ❤️ ... See MoreSee Less

Zinnia was the best behaved girl at the vet’s today! We got there a bit early so sat in the waiting room for a while and she was such a joy, happy to say hello to all the people and dogs who came in and then wriggled up onto my lap for a cuddle. She was great in the consulting room too when she got her booster vaccs and happily posed for a photo with her vet 😄
Zinnia is being fostered in West Auckland by the wonderful people at K9 Heaven 'The Country Club For Dogs' Auckland, NZ , she is about a year old and is accepting enquires for adoption 🙂
Zinnia looks quite big in her photos but she’s quite little, only 15kg and Staffy size but a much lighter build, looks like a mini Huntaway, very cute.
She loves company and probably won’t be happy left alone too much so we are looking for a home where she can have daytime company.
If you would like more info or to submit an application then please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org thank you! ... See MoreSee Less
If she is still available would she like to come to an event in evening to movies in parks?? We have a stand for shelter and rescue dogs xx 20th March

Hi there! Has Zinnia found a home yet?
Here's some thoughts from Louise, a very experienced puppy fosterer outlining a few considerations...
I do what I do because I care and want to give a little life the best start in life!
Hilux is fostered by me through the amazing ARAN Rescue. He was only 6wks if that when he first came to me, and so cute and tiny.
BUT people don’t realise what it takes to take on a pup of a young age because he’s Uber cute in a picture they just have to have it right????
Have they considered the following?
* sleepless nights- this can go on for weeks to months
* puppies pooh and pee a lot - you're up and down while trying to ensure he learns inside isn’t a toilet. I literally have to toilet him after play, sleep, feeds and all the in between times!
* being so young away from Mum he hadn’t learnt doggy behaviour from mum and that he can bite hard! He has an attitude and without experience he will be a dog with issues later on unless sorted NOW
* eating everything he finds, chewing everything, exploring and getting stuck in the most random of places means u literally can’t relax until he is asleep
* eats a lot - fed 4times a day of soaked mushy meals- u need routines and times set for feeding and with that comes more pooh
* crate training - screaming like he’s being murdered and not giving in to him otherwise u have a problem on ur hands - it’s hard and tiring
* giving him time alone so he doesn’t become anxious without u - being able to leave him somewhere safe for an hour or so without seeing u
* socialising it’s a huge factor.... every animal, place and person u can think of!!!
* your life changes- u can’t go out and party, u have to think about what to do with him while u nip out or work!!!! Can he come with u? If not then what?
Still think u can do it???? Then apply to the rescue otherwise get an older dog ❤️☺️ ... See MoreSee Less
Oh boy I can sure relate with a wee pup in a crate now in the lounge. I constantly ask if people are prepared for the time you need for the little ones and the lack of sleep. It's not just about puppy school aye! Thank you.
As soon as a puppy wakes or eats take outside for wee/poop & praise praise praise. If they're snifgingin circles your heading for an accident on your floor, your pack leader it's your responsibility, not the puppies fault. I toilet trained my 8 week old puppy in 2 weeks, the only time accidents happened was when a family member wasn't paying attention & I wasn't home. Love & praise & patience & perseverance are the most effective training tools
That split second of going from playing to peeing catches me out every. single. time! Thankfully our rescue girl was 5 months when we adopted her, so she could hold it pretty well, and got the hang of toileting outside very quickly.
So true, so many people I have encountered in my life and line of work get a cute puppy, which is so much fun.... Then come the complaints about it toileting inside, having to get up to let it out at all hours..... Then they get bored because its not fun.... Puppy abandoned 😡😠 would we do this to a human baby 😟🐾
This 🙌🏼 Every potential puppy owner needs to read this. Much like babies, they’re super cute ... when you can give them back.
What breed is he please
So very very true. They are newborns
Aww he’s soooo cuuuuuteeee 😍
Is Hilux still available for adoption please?
My girl living her best life, adopted from Aran at 6m old. Those first few months, maybe even the first year was very trying. Wondering if we had done the right thing. But we weren’t going to let her go, I put in so much work with her and she’s the best dog anyone could ever want! Definitely like having a toddler, just lucky people can’t give their kids up hey or there’s be children rescue centres everywhere
Don’t be fooled by his cuteness this little fella is a fiesty cheeky boy ❤️
That is a great summary. We've just adopted a 5 month old pup after our old boy died. We've had 2 dogs over the last 30 years and they both lived to 15 years so having a pup again is a big wake up. We look back at what we learned from our previous doggos and how training techniques have changed and we feel like newbies all over again. It's a huge sense of responsibility, but with a massive reward 💕🐕
Update: she has several wonderful forever home offers. Thank you, thank you ❣️
This wee girl has found herself in the pound. She does have a registration history so we know that she’s 14 years old (although pound staff said they originally estimated her as 10 because she looks younger) and she’s deaf. Her owner didn’t collect her so she now needs a retirement home.
She has lived her whole life outdoors so is enjoying having her very own comfy bed in the pound.
Her owner didn’t realise she was deaf 😟. She has lived with cats and chickens and would especially love a lady owner.
We’d like to get her straight into a permanent home if possible so it’s not too unsettling for her. She must go somewhere where she gets pampered so she can experience a few years of the princess life ❣️
Located in the Ruapehu area but we can probably assist with transport. Please email us at email@example.com if you can offer her a lovely home ... See MoreSee Less
Holly will be travelling north to her new home on Friday. Thanks to all who showed concern and/or offered to help her. She’s going to a wonderful home, one who has previously adopted a senior dog from us. She’s about to become a princess and have all the finest things a dog could want, especially love and a cosy indoor life ❣️ Happy days ahead
Another beautiful baby . My old boy 15 bit deaf and eyesight not so good but love him to bits
Little darling, so sad that she has never known the love to feel like a princess yet, I'm sure the rest of your yrs will be blessed little one. 💜 with a cosy indoor life.
So cute, poor doggy, not her fault!!! Would you abandon an old deaf human being?? Please someone with a big loving heart give her what she deserves! 💖
Poor little girl. Why do people get dogs and never let them inside? Hope she gets a loving, indoor, forever home soon. Some of these little dogs live to a great age. Best wishes. P.Lee
So sad she has lived outside all her life Obviously owners didn't love her enough to realize she was deaf glad she's going to a new home bless her
How could her owner, a) not know she was deaf and b) not pick her up from the pound? Perhaps when the woman becomes old she too will be cast aside! Animals are family and for life, they are not throwaways! Hope this wee one finds her forever home.
What a beautiful old girl! So hope she finds a lovely home, she so deserves it xxx
Aww poor wee darling, hope goes to her forever home real soon❤️🥰 Shared

Meet the beautiful Loki.
Lovely Loki is a 7 month old English Bull Terrier cross. She is leggier and taller than an EBT, but she has the cheerful, affectionate, friendly nature of the breed. Loki is a breed who needs plenty of good exercise, games and ongoing training. She is smart and clever and love humans, So she would suit as a pet or companion for active people who love the outdoors, and older kids (she is too full-on for toddlers and little kids).
Sorry, she is untested with cats.
Then the lovely Tara.
Lovely Tara is a 2 Year old Labrador/Mastiff cross. She is 33 Kg in size and very pretty and lovely to cuddle..
Tara loves people and makes friends with enthusiasm. She is keen to play, and enjoys exercise, but she likes nothing more than following her person around the home and garden, and plenty of cuddles.
Ruby the smiler.
Lovely Ruby is an 8 month old Heading breed (Collie) cross. She is only medium sized and very pretty. Ruby is a breed who needs plenty of good exercise, games and ongoing training. She is VERY smart and clever and would be a wonderful agility dog. So she would suit as a pet or companion for active people who love the outdoors.
Ruby loves people and makes friends with enthusiasm. She is keen to play and gets on well with other dogs, and is used to children. Sorry, she is untested with cats.
And our 2 year old Sonny.
Sonny is a black Labrador cross, currently located in the Manawatu area but he can travel to Wellington to an approved home. . He is a cheerful, fun loving big lad who loves walks and games and plenty of exercise. Sonny has been a family dog and is used to kids and cats. He needs a home with other dogs and/or someone home during the day with him. He won't do well left home alone while his people work all day. Good fences and secure gates are necessary for ARAN dog adoptions.
If you are interested in one of these beautiful dogs please fill out our application form. Link below.
