Check out this young man🐶🐶🐶Loved by his foster Mum.

Bruce Lee is a Foxy x and is located in the Manawatu.

Bruce is a medium size 1 year old dog. He is great with other dogs and seems uninterested in the flock of ducks at his foster Mums house.

He is great with kids and has the coolest nature. He laps up any attention and melts into his human.

This young man is smart, trainable and food motivated. Definitely needs an active home, someone who bikes, runs or does competitive dog sports like agility.

Bruce will be desexed and fully vaccinated. He is registered, microchipped, wormed and defleaed. He will be adopted with an adoption fee that will contribute towards these costs. Please complete the form below in the first instance. Applications in the Lower North Island are preferred at this stage.

Hi all of our Dog lovers.

Would you be able to assist us if you are planning travelling from Wellington to Whanganui in the near future.

We have a donation of food bags for our foster dogs which we need to get to Whanganui from Wellington so our Foster dogs have the nourishment they do need ? Approximately 10 of 20 kg bags but anything you can assist with would be more than appreciated🐶🐶🐶

These two Sharpei X girls, Tallulah (brunette) and Bee (blonde) came into our care with terribly painful eye conditions. Each girl had cherry eye in both eyes as well as entropion in both eyes, ouch ouch to say the very least. Entropion is where the eyelash rolls inward and scratches against the eyeball 😫 Despite all that the sharpy sisters were smoochy and loving and trying hard to look on the bright side through scratchy, gunky weepy eyes.
We needed to get surgery for them as a matter of urgency to prevent any lasting damage to their eyes, and such extensive operations come at no small cost.
So many angels flew in to help these girls, thank you thank you to Fundraising for Impounded Dogs - New Zealand for their amazing drive to raise funds for Tallulah and Bee's ops, we are nearly there with raising the money for their surgery and if anyone would like to head over to their Facebook page it won't take much more to get us over the line 🙏
Thank you to their wonderfully caring foster families for their after care and to Leanne Norman at Vetora Te Awamutu for her great surgical expertise. Thanks too to the pound staff who really did a great job in keeping T&B comfortable until we could get them into surgery. Here are the girls post op, rocking their cones 💕

I can't believe that people buy those dogs and pay big money but can't pay for their care and let them be in awful pain.Shocking they dont deserve to own a pet. I hope they come through their eye operations and find loving homes.

Such lucky girls. Teamwork saves lives 💜

Love it 😂

Found in a toilet block as a puppy Taking to council shelter So sick she almost died Under socialised due to shit owners Fostered her in the hope I could help her get adopted Decided to ask my landlord if I can keep her to save her being put down or let down once again by humans And here she is Miss skittles My beautiful funny naughty little girl and I will NEVER regret saving her life

The day before lockdown last year I was told there was one dog left in the local pound. We had no knowledge of his history, the pound was saying 8yr old lab (quite clearly not), no knowledge of his personality, but he only had until their closing time to find a home or would be euthanized, this gave us 2 hrs. So I sent my husband off in the ute while I rung the pound and made sure they wouldn't do anything until we got there. He was brought home, severley malnourished, raw patches of skin, and an acute ear infection. But he is the goodest boy and is now a much loved forever dog who is currently helping our foster dog find her feet.

RENI came from SPCA South Auckland death row. He's now an international traveller and lives in the UK with me. He's still reactive, but much better than he was. He's coming up to being 7 years old, considering one trainer told me he wouldn't live past 3 with his issues.😜

Uh sooo in Oct 2015, I came across a free dog advertised on Facebook, I was told she is American Bulldog x Boxer, about 9months at the time, wanted from the pound in her area of Kaingaroa BOP area, so instead of hiding her owners were giving her away for free, I instantly fell in love with her big brown eyes & black patch 💚 she was a chained dog with zero training & heavily pregnant at the time (we didn't know) we made her as comfortable at home as possible, when the pups were ready for homes, we got her spayed & she has never seen a chain again....it is now 2021 & her birthday is based on the night we traveled for her....October 9th 😍

Hilli (left), pound rescue and Archie (right), profoundly deaf rescue from Taupo. Living their best lives, having hundreds of trail running adventures and hanging with their horse and cat siblings. So blessed to have them in my life 🥰

Chevy on the right is an ARAN rescue, found wandering in Whanganui, came to us as a foster to keep Doyle company and he never left!

Here is our beautiful Minnie, for those who remember her she is a cover girl for the page and totally deaf. We rescued her a couple of years ago after she was rescued from a pound and have had our challenges getting her to adapt by involving a behavioural specialist. Now she is a beautiful loving wee girl and lives with our two other dogs plus cat. She is very beautiful ❤️

We saw Bear’s picture on your Facebook page and instantly fell in love with the scrawny little bag of bones! He certainly lives up to his name as he’s the cuddliest most loving teddy bear of a dog 💕

Truffle (Center) is an ARAN rescue ❤️ Now she is a mentor to other ARAN foster pups. Here she is, showing the best afternoon sunshine-sleep-spots 😴❤️🐶

Here is Bill rescued at 21/2 years old. He was going to be shot as a failed farm dog. Turned out he was blind and had been struggling and abused for 21/2 years. He is now 11 in December enjoying the comforts of family living. ❤️

This is the happy, gentle Gypsy with my daughter. We rehomed Gypsy from the Invercargill SPCA at the age of 12. She passed 19 months ago at the age of 15.5 years. She was a beautiful girl and much loved.

Bella was advertised on behalf via this site. When I got her (we’ve just had our 5 year anniversary!) she was a very scared of humans abused dog. Always amazing with other dogs but petrified of humans, especially men. After a lot of love and care she is one happy girl, living her best life and adored by many. Thank you Aran for bringing Bella and I together ❤️🐶❤️

This beautiful boy was a pound puppy rescue 6 years ago with a sad & rough start to his young life he finally landed in heaven with us & has been the most loyal loving dog ever can’t imagine life without him my constant companion 🥰

Chilli… was Sheila/Sparrow. Two years post adoption. Do you think she’s comfy?

Elvis was adopted from you in 2013 and cilla in 2020. Elvis has come such a long way and we are pretty pleased to have them both as party of our family . Love them heaps

Leroy from ARAN Animal Rescue NZ, rescued from the pound at 2 years old, skinny and scared of everything. He’s now living his best life and has the biggest personality 🥰🥰

This is my Levi. In the pound then saved by ARAN. He traveled to Auckland into foster where I drove up from Wellington to meet him. On first sight I knew he was going to be part of my family. Then I saw what Aran did for all of these dogs and offered my assistance.

Pixie (left) is from Taumarunui Pound, via ARAN. The most loving, clever, devious little dog with a huge personality 💕🐶

We got our boy MARLEY on the (RIGHT ) our beardie cross wolf hound A year and half ago from the ARAN resuce team he was in the Wanganui pound for 10 days had been to 10 different family's on trails we were his last chance his last hope his 11th home ! the day he came on his trail day we new our lifestyle would be perfect for him he's the best dog we've had he's come along way learning new things everyday he loves chasing the seagulls for miles up and down the beach ! He also loves spending time with our other rescue pound pooch HAIL she teaches him how to keep in line and how to be a good doggie as she's the boss dog best buds 4 ever 🥰

My two rescues. Tan doggo Rose fro ARAN Animal Rescue NZ 🥰🥰🥰 and white doggo Eco from our local puppy rescue Saving Hope Foundation. Neither are perfect in the eyes of many, but who is?! They are our family and we wouldn’t trade them for anything 🥰🥰🥰 Here’s to happy doggo lives, not necessarily long but always loved 😍😍😍😍

This is Minty. We were looking for a calm adult girl to help us through the pain of our elderly dog's cancer journey, and we came across Minty on a rescue website. We drove 7 hours to pick her up. She had been with a foster family for two years as nobody wanted her. She'd been rescued from the pound after being dumped in a sewage treatment plant where she escaped being caught for about six months. She is the sweetest dog, but has a big bark characteristic of the "farm dog special" that she is. I think that, and the fact that she is very shy with strangers, is the reason she took so long to be rehomed. She is such a treasure, and just needed a chance. We love her so much.

Here is our mad dog aka Suri who we got from Aran 7 years ago. She was my Mum’s constant companion for four years and then when mum died she came to live with us. We have 2 other dogs but Suri is the boss!

Freddie Bear with his little bent leg wasn’t wanted by the breeder so ended up at the spca. He’s now 11 and living the dream at my place. ❤️

My little legged Butter Bug, is from Saving Hope/ B.O.I.A.R He is everything we ever dreamed of.

Maisey came from Furever Homes in Invercargill at 7 months of age. She's 22 months now and is most definitely living her best life - big walks, road trips, a canine mate, with her human all day....loved to bits...

Ollie is a Very Very Handsome young man. He is a Husky x and is located in the Manawatu.

Please note we will not be conducting any meet and greets until the lockdown levels allow. But please email us your interest and fill out a application form.

Ollie gets on with other dogs and loves people, wanting to give kisses and be cuddled.

Ollie will be desexed and fully vaccinated. He is registered, microchipped, wormed and defleaed. He will be adopted with an adoption fee that will contribute towards these costs.

As with all ARAN Rescue dogs, Ollie must sleep indoors and live inside the house with his family. He must never be kept chained up.

If you’re around Whanganui this weekend, ARAN Rescue Volunteers will be at Animates Whanganui.

Animates are supporting animal rescues around the country and our team will be on site Saturday 10-2pm and Sunday 11-1pm.

Our main objective is to adopt not buy. Come down for a chat.

We have a large raffle with lots of prizes.

We are also doing a donate towards a bag of food collection as you know all of our rescue dogs chomp through lots of food never mind the medical side.

If you can’t make it down there but would love to support either our rescue or our food drive, you can donate through our give a little page or directly. Our bank account 03-1322-0809827-000.

Update

Thankyou Bex for offering to foster these lovely pups.

We have been asked to help these two lovely 20 week old pups that are in a Central North Island pound.

We of course agreed (who wouldn’t) BUT we need help to accommodate them from tomorrow till Monday or Tuesday. Could you help them?

Luckily they have a possible ride to Wellington tomorrow. The Wellington SPCA have kindly offered to take them for Rehoming but they can’t until Monday or Tuesday due to the quantity they are dealing with this week.

Would any of our lovely Helpers/Followers be able to look after these cuties until we can get them to the SPCA. Preferably close to Wellington if possible.

They would be in the Wellington region around 4pm tomorrow and we can assist with food etc. They have not been desexed or vaccinated yet but will be at the SPCA.

If you are not a accredited fosterer for ARAN then please fill out our quick foster form

Thankyou in advance🐶🐶🐶

Update.

This lovely Duo are still looking for you.
They are still looking for a home

Get your heart strings prepared to be pulled❤️❤️❤️🐶🐶🐶

Bonnie and Clyde are a mother and son British Bulldog cross duo, 3 and 2 years of age, located in the Manawatu area. Sorry we don't know the cross, but likely English Staffy, as they are short legged low in size dogs.

Both dogs are desexed, fully vaccinated, registered and microchipped, vet checked, wormed and de-fleaed.

Bonnie is deaf and so a home that is willing to support her with this disability is needed. Bonnie relies on Clyde and Clyde looks after Bonnie, so they are a bonded pair and must go to a home together. Both dogs have lovely friendly affectionate natures and cheerful dispositions.

These dogs are best to go as the only dogs in the home, due to the fact that they are young and full of beans and having been neglected in the past will benefit from some training., ie they need extra TLC and time and attention, from an owner who is willing to give each dog what they need. NO CATS or other small pets, as they delight in chasing cats, and we do not know what their intentions would be, so for the sake of pet safety, a cat/rabbit-free home please.

As with all ARAN Rescue dogs, Bonnie and Clyde must sleep indoors and live inside the house with their family. They must never be kept chained up.

Adoption fee of $500 to cover the cost to ARAN of rescuing, council and vetting expenses for these dogs.

Please complete the form below in the first instance.
Applications in the Lower North Island are preferred at this stage. Home applications subject to ARAN's usual approval processes which include a home visit and property check.

Posting on Behalf of Scouts Mum. Sadly she has had to make a tough decision with Scouts best interests the only priority.

One of our Volunteers has met Scout and says he is the most lovely dog.

About Scout.

Scout is a happy healthy 18 month Pointer Cross. He has so much to give and deserves a family who can give him the attention, training and exercise he needs.

Scout is best suited to routine and a family where he can be with his person most of the time. He is fantastic with children and needs to have a role in the family life. He is boisterous but gentle and is very eager to please.

Scout has mild hip dysplasia so cannot go on really long hikes or walks but still requires plenty of exercise to keep him in peak condition and prevent issues further down the line. He loves using his brain and nose and due to his breed he would excel at participating in nose work / scent training.

Scout is very friendly with other dogs but can get over excited so continued regular training is invaluable to keeping him calm.
He likes to be the centre of attention so would be best suited as the only dog in the household and will require a fully fenced yard.

He is fine with cats that are part of the family but can become fixated on them as a potential play mate

If you are interested in Scout please messenger us or email at aran.rescue.nz@gmail.com.

When you say no really long walks or hikes for Scout, could he manage walking for an hour or so? Thinking places like Camborne walkway, or around Onehunga Beach at Whitireia park in Titahi Bay? Is he okay with uneven terrain, like bush walks?

Meet our Handsome Tigga. 🐶🐶🐶🐶

Loved by his Foster and says he is an awesome dog. Tigga loves cuddles and life In general. What a handsome young man.

Tigga is a 11 month old Bull Terrier x and is located in the Rangitikei area.

From his photo he seems to be contortionist on his fosters couch. What a talented young man.

Tigga is a large, happy dog, who needs some training and plenty of exercise. He is house trained and jumps happily into the car. Tigga likes to think he is a lap dog and loves everyone. He enjoys the company of other dogs, but wants to chase cats, only because it's fun.

Tigga would enjoy family life and going out on adventures and should have daytime company or another dog to play with.

Tigga is desexed and fully vaccinated. He is registered, microchipped, wormed and defleaed. He will be adopted with an adoption fee that will contribute towards these costs.

As with all ARAN Rescue dogs, Tigga must sleep indoors and live inside the house with his family. He must never be kept chained up.
