Melts my heart. The Pugs and I missed our yellow Labrador immensely when she crossed The Rainbow Bridge at age 14. Anybody would be so lucky to have this beautiful girl in their life.

There were so many keen homes for the elderly retriever Manu that was down in wellington Im sure Macey will find a perfect home so quickly!

Sorry, someone pm me this morning but I couldn't find that message anymore. Can you please re-send. Thanks

Driving from Waikato to Greytown on Saturday morning if a partial ride might help?

Mike Dalton cmon, give her a lift ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Hi team. We can do a ride to Porirua early Monday morning.

I can come for a roadie on Friday if she doesn't get an earlier offer!

Update: Millie has found the perfect home, thank you all for your comments and for sharing ๐Ÿ’•

๐ŸŒท PLEASE HELP THIS GENTLE OLDER LADY ๐ŸŒท

At the grand age of eight years old poor Milly has found herself homeless. Milly urgently needs to find her FINAL home - the place where she will be able to live out her remaining years in comfort and security.

One of our long term fosterers has met Milly and describes her as calm and soft natured, with a gentle and sensible demeanor. She is affectionate and connected, and just wants to be loved. Milly is fabulous with children and has lived in a family environment, she is also great with cats. She may be alright with a calm, male dog, but what Milly wants most of all is a person to be her loyal sidekick and devoted BFF for the rest of her years.

She is in excellent health, especially given her age. Milly is spayed, vaccinated, registered, and has basic training.

Milly does not like to be left by herself. She is looking for a home with someone who is at home during the day, or perhaps someone who could take her to work with them. She needs domeone who will be patient and understanding, especially while she settles in. This will be discussed in depth with interested people.

Milly is based in New Plymouth but transport can be provided if the perfect home is found outside the area.

If you think you can offer Milly the retirement home she desperately needs please contact Summer on 0211499874 or Matt on 0224211610 for further information. A small adoption fee applies to ensure genuine interest.

Travel sorted. Thank you everyone.

I have some toys, food and blankets I was planning on dropping off to Martin on Saturday. If you could get him to Otaki or a bit further north if need be, I can pick him up and take him to welly and drop off the stuff to Martin at the same time. Would need to be after 11am though.

Hi I’m traveling from Wanganui to Wellington on Saturday but won’t be leaving Wanganui until around lunchtime or 1ish. Happy to take him if that works for you

we are going from taranaki to carterton but not until next friday

Introducing our Handsome Ollieโค๏ธโค๏ธ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ. Check him out in this amazing video.

This young man is smaller than a full Husky and quite young, possibly only around 17 months old. Very intelligent and a quick learner.

Ollie gets on with other dogs and loves people, wanting to give kisses and be cuddled.

Ollie will need plenty of exercise and training. He will not go to a home with any other pets, except dogs. His new home must have the ultimate in secure fencing. Husky experience is preferred.

We would like to thank Mean Productions for donating their time and amazing skills filming/producing this fantastic video. Please check out their FB and Instagram pages. We really appreciate all they do for ARAN Rescue and all of our rescue dogs.

@meanproductionsmedia

Ollie will be desexed and fully vaccinated. He is registered, microchipped, wormed and defleaed. He will be adopted with an adoption fee that will contribute towards these costs.

As with all ARAN Rescue dogs, Ollie must sleep indoors and live inside the house with his family. He must never be kept chained up.

Please complete the form below in the first instance.
Applications in the Lower North Island are preferred at this stage.

Meet our gorgeous, heart melting Bonnie and Clyde.

Bonnie(deaf) and son Clyde are searching for their new family, either together, or to separate homes.

Either way they will make your family complete with their loving and fun loving personalities.

We would like to really thank Mean Productions for donating their time and amazing skills filming/producing this fantastic video. Please check out their FB and Instagram pages. We really appreciate all they do for ARAN Rescue and all of our rescue dogs.

@meanproductionsmedia

Bonnie and Clyde are a Mother and Son who are a British Bulldog cross duo, 3 and 4 years of age, located in the Manawatu area.

Sorry we don't know the cross, but likely English Staffy, as they are short legged low in size dogs. Both dogs are desexed, fully vaccinated, registered and microchipped, vet checked, wormed and de-fleaed.

Bonnie is deaf and so a home that is willing to support her with this disability is needed. Both dogs have lovely friendly affectionate natures and cheerful dispositions.

Bonnie and Clyde are best to go as the only dogs in the home, due to the fact that they are young and full of beans and having been neglected in the past will benefit from some training., ie they need extra TLC and time and attention, from an owner-or owners who is willing to give each dog what they need.

NO CATS or other small pets, as they delight in chasing cats, and we do not know what their intentions would be, so for the sake of pet safety, a cat/rabbit-free home please.

As with all ARAN Rescue dogs, Bonnie and Clyde must sleep indoors and live inside the house with their family. They must never be kept chained up.

Adoption fee of $250 each is to cover the cost to ARAN of rescuing, council and vetting expenses for these dogs.

Please complete the form below in the first instance. Applications in the Lower North Island are preferred at this stage. Home applications subject to ARAN's usual approval processes which include a home visit and property check.

Introducing our โ€œHunterโ€ our very sweet young man.

Hunter is located in the Manawatu and this is a write up about him from his foster mum:

"Hi, Iโ€™m a very sweet boy, Iโ€™m about 12-18mths old, not too sure of my breed, but I am medium to large at around 28kgs. I think I might have a bit of Whippet or Huntaway in me, as I am pretty tall and slim and have a old man's bark ??

I can start off a little nervous, but once I get to know you I just want to be by your side or on your lap all the time. I would be suited to a lady owner, or a guy that has patience to get to know me, as Iโ€™m a bit wary of men, but I am working on that.

Iโ€™m great with other dogs, and think I would love to have a buddy to show me the ropes and help with my confidence.
Iโ€™m learning some manners and working on house etiquette (I donโ€™t think I've really been inside much previously).

Iโ€™m currently fostered with sheep, cows and horses next door and am ok with them, so think I could live with other animals if introduced correctly. I havenโ€™t been around cats, so would definitely need a slow introduction to them.

If you think I could be a good fit please enquire about me.

Introducing the Beautiful Ellaโค๏ธโค๏ธ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ

Ella is a 9 month old Beardie X.

She was handed over as her owners couldn't afford to fix her broken leg.

ARAN Rescue stepped in to give this lovely, young dog the surgery she desperately needed. Ella has another 4 weeks on crate rest and very limited walks.

After her recovery Ella will be looking for a new family. She is a very loving dog, who rolls over for a tummy scratch often. She is great with other dogs, but we have not been able to test her with chickens and cats.

Ella will be rehomed when her cast is removed and the vet has given her the all clear. She is located in the Manawatu region.

Ella is bound to be popular, so get your applications in.

Our Princess - Meet Leia

Leia is a lovely mixed breed girl. She is approximately 4.5 years old and currently located in the Wellington area.

She loves her humans and shows them lots of affection. Whether they are 5 or 75 she gets on with them all.

Her foster says she is a great companion, whether sitting at your feet, going for a walk or a run (which she enjoys). Alternatively find somewhere quiet, take a tennis ball and she'll love you forever. She is also pretty chilled if you have to leave her for a few hours and will find a nice spot to relax.

Leia is a smart girl. She will come when called, sit, stay, lie down and give a paw. She is a quick learner especially when a treat is in the offing!

Although she has played happily with other dogs, she does not like all dogs, so is best suited to a home where she is the only pet. Leia is not keen on cats either.

Her ideal home would be with an active couple or family with older children.

Leia is desexed and fully vaccinated. She is registered, microchipped, wormed and defleaed. She will be adopted with an adoption fee that will contribute towards these costs.

As with all ARAN dogs, Leia must sleep indoors and live inside the house with her family. She must never be kept chained up.

Are you travelling from Whanganui to Wellington Thursday or Friday and have a spare seats for this lovely Mum and Pups?

This lovely family have a spot secured at the Wellington SPCA for adoption but they need to arrive there either Thursday or Friday.

We work with the SPCA to assist each other and they have asked us to provide an arrival time so they can have their team ready and waiting.

If you can assist on either of these days, you help would be a blessing.

We could organise transport to Bulls if you are travelling through. Crates or some secure place in the vehicle would be required as this family will be excited to start their new life.

You will be rewarded with cuddles and dog kisses.

Update.

Bruce is still looking for his new family.

Check out this young man๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐ŸถLoved by his foster Mum.

Bruce Lee is a Foxy x and is located in the Manawatu. He would love a family that has another dog. His foster is working on his toilet training.

Bruce is a medium size 1 year old dog. He is great with other dogs and seems uninterested in the flock of ducks at his foster Mums house.

He is great with kids and has the coolest nature. He laps up any attention and melts into his human.

This young man is smart, trainable and food motivated. Definitely needs an active home, someone who bikes, runs or does competitive dog sports like agility.

Bruce will be desexed and fully vaccinated. He is registered, microchipped, wormed and defleaed. He will be adopted with an adoption fee that will contribute towards these costs. Please complete the form below in the first instance. Applications in the Lower North Island are preferred at this stage.

These two Sharpei X girls, Tallulah (brunette) and Bee (blonde) came into our care with terribly painful eye conditions. Each girl had cherry eye in both eyes as well as entropion in both eyes, ouch ouch to say the very least. Entropion is where the eyelash rolls inward and scratches against the eyeball ๐Ÿ˜ซ Despite all that the sharpy sisters were smoochy and loving and trying hard to look on the bright side through scratchy, gunky weepy eyes.
We needed to get surgery for them as a matter of urgency to prevent any lasting damage to their eyes, and such extensive operations come at no small cost.
So many angels flew in to help these girls, thank you thank you to Fundraising for Impounded Dogs - New Zealand for their amazing drive to raise funds for Tallulah and Bee's ops, we are nearly there with raising the money for their surgery and if anyone would like to head over to their Facebook page it won't take much more to get us over the line ๐Ÿ™
Thank you to their wonderfully caring foster families for their after care and to Leanne Norman at Vetora Te Awamutu for her great surgical expertise. Thanks too to the pound staff who really did a great job in keeping T&B comfortable until we could get them into surgery. Here are the girls post op, rocking their cones ๐Ÿ’•

I can't believe that people buy those dogs and pay big money but can't pay for their care and let them be in awful pain.Shocking they dont deserve to own a pet. I hope they come through their eye operations and find loving homes.

How old are they? When will they be ready for adoption?

Such lucky girls. Teamwork saves lives ๐Ÿ’œ

Love it ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yes!!! What a dream team of Angels!!!!!

Post your Rescue Dogs tail. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ

How did you come across your new family member? We would love to hear.

Weekly we rehome so many dogs from quite a few pounds. We do get a lot of feed back from adopters but would love to hear your story.

The ARAN Rescue team hope you and your family are safe during this very trying time. Keep safe and we will be back to normal life soon.

Found in a toilet block as a puppy Taking to council shelter So sick she almost died Under socialised due to shit owners Fostered her in the hope I could help her get adopted Decided to ask my landlord if I can keep her to save her being put down or let down once again by humans And here she is Miss skittles My beautiful funny naughty little girl and I will NEVER regret saving her life

The day before lockdown last year I was told there was one dog left in the local pound. We had no knowledge of his history, the pound was saying 8yr old lab (quite clearly not), no knowledge of his personality, but he only had until their closing time to find a home or would be euthanized, this gave us 2 hrs. So I sent my husband off in the ute while I rung the pound and made sure they wouldn't do anything until we got there. He was brought home, severley malnourished, raw patches of skin, and an acute ear infection. But he is the goodest boy and is now a much loved forever dog who is currently helping our foster dog find her feet.

RENI came from SPCA South Auckland death row. He's now an international traveller and lives in the UK with me. He's still reactive, but much better than he was. He's coming up to being 7 years old, considering one trainer told me he wouldn't live past 3 with his issues.๐Ÿ˜œ

Uh sooo in Oct 2015, I came across a free dog advertised on Facebook, I was told she is American Bulldog x Boxer, about 9months at the time, wanted from the pound in her area of Kaingaroa BOP area, so instead of hiding her owners were giving her away for free, I instantly fell in love with her big brown eyes & black patch ๐Ÿ’š she was a chained dog with zero training & heavily pregnant at the time (we didn't know) we made her as comfortable at home as possible, when the pups were ready for homes, we got her spayed & she has never seen a chain again....it is now 2021 & her birthday is based on the night we traveled for her....October 9th ๐Ÿ˜

Hilli (left), pound rescue and Archie (right), profoundly deaf rescue from Taupo. Living their best lives, having hundreds of trail running adventures and hanging with their horse and cat siblings. So blessed to have them in my life ๐Ÿฅฐ

Chevy on the right is an ARAN rescue, found wandering in Whanganui, came to us as a foster to keep Doyle company and he never left!

Here is our beautiful Minnie, for those who remember her she is a cover girl for the page and totally deaf. We rescued her a couple of years ago after she was rescued from a pound and have had our challenges getting her to adapt by involving a behavioural specialist. Now she is a beautiful loving wee girl and lives with our two other dogs plus cat. She is very beautiful โค๏ธ

We saw Bear’s picture on your Facebook page and instantly fell in love with the scrawny little bag of bones! He certainly lives up to his name as he’s the cuddliest most loving teddy bear of a dog ๐Ÿ’•

Truffle (Center) is an ARAN rescue โค๏ธ Now she is a mentor to other ARAN foster pups. Here she is, showing the best afternoon sunshine-sleep-spots ๐Ÿ˜ดโค๏ธ๐Ÿถ

Here is Bill rescued at 21/2 years old. He was going to be shot as a failed farm dog. Turned out he was blind and had been struggling and abused for 21/2 years. He is now 11 in December enjoying the comforts of family living. โค๏ธ

This is the happy, gentle Gypsy with my daughter. We rehomed Gypsy from the Invercargill SPCA at the age of 12. She passed 19 months ago at the age of 15.5 years. She was a beautiful girl and much loved.

Bella was advertised on behalf via this site. When I got her (we’ve just had our 5 year anniversary!) she was a very scared of humans abused dog. Always amazing with other dogs but petrified of humans, especially men. After a lot of love and care she is one happy girl, living her best life and adored by many. Thank you Aran for bringing Bella and I together โค๏ธ๐Ÿถโค๏ธ

This beautiful boy was a pound puppy rescue 6 years ago with a sad & rough start to his young life he finally landed in heaven with us & has been the most loyal loving dog ever can’t imagine life without him my constant companion ๐Ÿฅฐ

Chilli… was Sheila/Sparrow. Two years post adoption. Do you think she’s comfy?

Elvis was adopted from you in 2013 and cilla in 2020. Elvis has come such a long way and we are pretty pleased to have them both as party of our family . Love them heaps

Leroy from ARAN Animal Rescue NZ, rescued from the pound at 2 years old, skinny and scared of everything. He’s now living his best life and has the biggest personality ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ

This is my Levi. In the pound then saved by ARAN. He traveled to Auckland into foster where I drove up from Wellington to meet him. On first sight I knew he was going to be part of my family. Then I saw what Aran did for all of these dogs and offered my assistance.

Pixie (left) is from Taumarunui Pound, via ARAN. The most loving, clever, devious little dog with a huge personality ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿถ

Bailey was one of the original Aran rescue dogs that I adopted 9 years ago. Sadly I lost him to cancer last year, he was the best boy โค

We got our boy MARLEY on the (RIGHT ) our beardie cross wolf hound A year and half ago from the ARAN resuce team he was in the Wanganui pound for 10 days had been to 10 different family's on trails we were his last chance his last hope his 11th home ! the day he came on his trail day we new our lifestyle would be perfect for him he's the best dog we've had he's come along way learning new things everyday he loves chasing the seagulls for miles up and down the beach ! He also loves spending time with our other rescue pound pooch HAIL she teaches him how to keep in line and how to be a good doggie as she's the boss dog best buds 4 ever ๐Ÿฅฐ

Here is our mad dog aka Suri who we got from Aran 7 years ago. She was my Mum’s constant companion for four years and then when mum died she came to live with us. We have 2 other dogs but Suri is the boss!

My two rescues. Tan doggo Rose fro ARAN Animal Rescue NZ ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ and white doggo Eco from our local puppy rescue Saving Hope Foundation. Neither are perfect in the eyes of many, but who is?! They are our family and we wouldn’t trade them for anything ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ Here’s to happy doggo lives, not necessarily long but always loved ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

This is Minty. We were looking for a calm adult girl to help us through the pain of our elderly dog's cancer journey, and we came across Minty on a rescue website. We drove 7 hours to pick her up. She had been with a foster family for two years as nobody wanted her. She'd been rescued from the pound after being dumped in a sewage treatment plant where she escaped being caught for about six months. She is the sweetest dog, but has a big bark characteristic of the "farm dog special" that she is. I think that, and the fact that she is very shy with strangers, is the reason she took so long to be rehomed. She is such a treasure, and just needed a chance. We love her so much.

Freddie Bear with his little bent leg wasn’t wanted by the breeder so ended up at the spca. He’s now 11 and living the dream at my place. โค๏ธ

My little legged Butter Bug, is from Saving Hope/ B.O.I.A.R He is everything we ever dreamed of.

Ollie is a Very Very Handsome young man. He is a Husky x and is located in the Manawatu.

Please note we will not be conducting any meet and greets until the lockdown levels allow. But please email us your interest and fill out a application form.

Ollie is smaller than a full Husky and quite young, possibly only around 7 months old. He is intelligent and a quick learner.

Ollie gets on with other dogs and loves people, wanting to give kisses and be cuddled.

Ollie will need plenty of exercise and training. Will not go to a home with any other pets, except dogs. His new home must have the ultimate in secure fencing. Husky experience is preferred.
